Customer Care Specialist
AnimalBiome seeks a Customer Care Specialist to join our growing team.

Founded in 2016, AnimalBiome provides personalized nutrition and supplements to restore the gut health of cats and dogs by leveraging the latest advancements in our understanding of the microbiome. Imbalances in a pet’s gut microbiome are tied to an increased risk for many health issues, including those related to digestion, skin, and weight. At AnimalBiome, we use both dietary interventions and fecal transplants to restore balance to the microbiomes of sick pets.
About the Position
This is a full time position located in Oakland, California. Some remote work may be available.
Salary Range: $48,000 – $55,000
Salary is commensurate with experience.
This position requires resolving customer service related questions regarding general product use, web site issues, sample registration, logging into accounts, order related questions and shipping issues. Training is provided and experience with microbiology is not required. All information needed to be successful in the position is available, but it will take time and effort to learn.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can self-teach as needed. The Customer Care Specialist will report to the Customer Service Manager.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Interacting with customers over email, chat, and phone to help them with customer service related inquiries.
- Four year degree.
- Customer Service experience.
- Prior academic/professional knowledge in animal science, health, or behavior
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Slack and Apple products
- Current or recent experience with companion animals (including personal pet ownership)
